Eating Disorders
and
Body Dysmorphic Disorder

Therapy can play a supportive role in healing from eating disorders and body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). It does not replace medical treatment or specialist care, but it can complement it meaningfully.

I can help you to understand the root causes and provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore these underlying issues. Together, we will challenge unhelpful thought patterns and create emotional coping skills and restore a sense of self. I encourage self-compassion, identity beyond appearance and more balanced life goals.

Important Considerations

  • Eating disorders and BDD can be serious, even life-threatening. Professional medical and psychiatric care should be the foundation.

  • Talking therapy and hypnotherapy work best as part of a multidisciplinary approach (doctor, nutritionist, therapist, psychiatrist, etc.).

  • Hypnotherapy is not about “control” or “erasing thoughts”—it’s about gently reshaping the internal dialogue so recovery feels safer and more achievable to you.
